Online Ruler (onlineruler.in) is a free, browser-based measurement tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little) and how we handle it.

Data We Collect

We do not collect personal data. Online Ruler runs entirely in your browser. Your calibration settings and theme preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage and never leave your device.

We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not require account creation or login. We do not sell or share any data with third parties.

Device Detection

Our auto-detect calibration feature reads your screen resolution, device pixel ratio, and browser user agent to identify your device model. This information is processed entirely in your browser and is never sent to our servers.

Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to save:

• Calibration settings (PPI, calibration method)
• Theme preference (dark/light mode)

You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics services to understand general usage patterns (page views, popular features). These services do not use cookies and do not track individuals.
